Great Day...

Today was a great day for me at work.

I was a bit uneasy this morning because we had a new doctor coming in to do surgery at our place and I was going to be in his room. Usually it's not a big deal when we have new guys because they just come in and use everything we have, but this guy is big into sports medicine and came from Loma Linda University, so he is used to getting whatever he wants.... So we brought in everything new for him. All new instruments, scopes, cameras, specialty equipment......everything... So I went in to work today and told myself that today would be considered experience for the next time that I work with him, since I figured it would be rough. Well our first case was hard because the kid had a shifty patella bone in his knee, so we fixed it as best as we could and moved on to our next case which was a shoulder arthroscopy with rotator cuff repair. This was the one I was more concerned about because every doctor repairs shoulders differently. We began and everything went really smooth, then I remembered a system I had used before that was very similar and TA-DAA!!!! It was like the light bulb went on in my head, and I was n the groove!!!! The case went really well, and the doc told me that for it being our first time working together and his first case at our place, that I was a superstar!!!! He said I was making him look good. Man, it just put such a big smile on my face to know that I had my shit together enough to be able to impress a doc on his first day!!!! So our case finished and off he went to do all his doctor stuff. I stayed in the room and cleaned up our messy OR. Later when I went to the front office for some paperwork, my administrator told me that the doctor had come up to the front and told her how great I was, and that he was glad I was in his room today!!!!! Another big smile!!! To have him have been so happy with me that he felt he needed to tell her was amazing!!!!

So needless to say one more time, I had a great day at work!!!!

After work, I went to pick up Noah from daycare, and we went to pick up Obi from home so we could go to Tae Kwon Do. I dropped Noah off at the studio and Obi and I went for a long walk. I've been trying to walk him at least 4 times a week. But these aren't short little walks. Today's walk was good because I went on my own and just listened to music the whole way... Pretty serene and almost meditational.... It was great. Last nights walk with Noah was soooo long. Probably at least a good 2 miles uphill and down... Very cool!!!! I had him speed walking..... I would like to get to the point where we even jog or run, but before I get too ahead of myself I'll stick to walking very quickly!!!

After Tae Kwon Do, I stopped by my big sisters house and hung out there for a minute. My nephew is getting sooo big!!!! He was in a serious mood today so we barely got him to crack a smile, but he is just so cute that I didn't care!!!! Then I stopped by my moms to pick up some other stuff. And it was time to go home.... We came home and did homework, then had dinner, and finally it was time to go to Obi's first Intermediate puppy class. He did a really good job today. He is learning to stay even with distractions around. And if you know my dog, you know he gets distracted easily. So we'll see how well he continues to do in these classes. Only 7 more t go!!!

Alright kiddos, I'm going to go watch American Idol. We tivo'd it because Mark loves to watch the bad singers in the beginning. BTW, last night was the premier for PrisonBreak, and they delivered!!!! It was a great episode. I've been addicted to this show since the first episode. It's so sad, I've never missed an episode!!! It's a great show!!!!
