Catch my breath...

Well, it has really been a whirlwind weekend!!!!! It started on Friday..... Kimmy and I got all dressed up and went to a Rockabilly show in Van Nuys... That's nearly 80 miles away from home.... We left my house close to 830 pm and made it out there close to 10pm.... The place was a little different than I expected, but very retro and nostalgic to the era of the music. The show was held at an actual Elks Lodge... It had beautiful wood floors and a big American flag hanging behind the band. It was a total flashback to those old USO concerts for the military in the 50's... cute!!! There was a female fronted band playing when we got there, and they were great!! Then Big Sandy came on... They did a great set as always... Even played Kimmys request of Yamma Yamma, and he even spoke some sweet words directly to her. (The last time we saw him, she was in tears because she had just broken up wth her man) It was a great time. Another female came on after that, Marti Brom, and she was awesome too!!!! After they played we went to meet up with one of Kimmys friends Liz, that lives close to there. Her and a couple of friends were hanging out at a place called the Copperbucket... We hung out there for a while, watched Kimmy get shitfaced (I was her DD....again) drinking everyones beer, and even someones beer out of the pitcher!!! Yeah... she was out of it!!! So we decided to call it a night and I did the drive home!!! It was crazy!! Kimmy semi passed out, spilling her water on my jacket and telling me she didn't, then telling me to stop for burgers (I was like- NO!!!), and finally not being able to work the radio for me. She's got this fancy system that I couldn't figure out while driving at 330 in the morning!!! So I ended up listening to the same song for a good hour then oldies for the last part of the drive!!!! Crazy night!!! So we go home around 4 am, and by the time I got in bed, i was close to 430!!!!

I laid down and it felt like I had just closed my eyes when my alarm went off.....It was time to go to work!!! Hahahahah!!! So I ironed some scrubs, brushed my teeth, pulled my hair back, put my glasses on and off I went!!! I knew we had one case scheduled for Saturday, but when I got to work, my coworkers told me it had cancelled!!!! YAY!!!! We went to get breakfast at the cafeteria (morning ritual on Saturday), and when we came back into the department I grabbed myself a blanket out of the warmer and headed straight for the couch in the lounge!!! I fell asleep until noon!!! hahahaha!!!! Then just hung out for another hour and we all decided to go home. When I got home, I decided to get another nap because we were going out again Saturday night!!! So I did!!!



After I woke up, it was time to hop in the shower and start getting ready for the night ahead!!! This was Hobo Jazz's first time back to The Vault martini bar in Redlands for 2008.... So I called up a bunch of friends and coworkers and we all met there. My brother and sis-in-law Tim and Mel came out to see them too. They stopped by our place first and we began the night with a quick mango martini for the road, then we went to Rubio's for dinner, where we met Kimmy. After dinner we headed on over there to The Vault... It was such a fun night!!! Good drinks, lots of great company, and dancing too!!! And of course, awesome and fun music!!!!! Well we were there till they closed the place down, and then decided to call it a night. No trip to Denny's this time, just straight home..... I was pooped but had such a great time!!!

Los Hobos De Jazz.... another great show!!!!

So here we are at Sunday afternoon. Just hanging out at home paying some bills, blogging, uploading pics and gonna get ready to take Obi for a walk to Petsmart to buy him some greenies for his breath. Our walks are going great!!! We try different routes almost every time, and on the days where we get and early start we try to make them longer than usual. Noah is doing great with them too. He is liking going further distances too. That makes me happy!!!



Speaking of Noah, he will be testing for his green belt the first weekend in Feb. I am so proud of him!!! He is really trying to get into sparring, even though it's not his thing. He's trying and that's makes me proud!!! His birthday party is going to be next weekend at one of those indoor jumper arenas, but the catch is it's under black lights, so they call it a "glow party".. It should be fun for the kiddos. Then the next weekend is Superbowl. Mark is having a party for his coworkers here at our place....And the following Friday I will be leaving for my Mexico mission trip. So no more going out till after all that!!! I think I have gone out every weekend for a while now, time to take a breather!!!!
