hey everyone... I just wanted to write a quick note to say that our trip to vail has been great so far.... our landing was a little shaky, and our car rental was interesting.... we got to our hotel probably around midnight....but the company has been great and i've learned a lot already. can't wait for the cadaver lab tomorrrow... I get to see cody (a friend of the family) tomorrow since he lives here in colorado. that's exciting.....well our lunch break is over so I better get back.... bye!!!

OK.... Not So Emo Anymore.....
Wow... Thanks for all the loving words of understanding and encouragement that I got from my last post... I know I don't often break down and write out EVERYTHING I am feeling but I felt so much better after I wrote my last post... I'm just glad to have my blog to vent to..... I really just wanted to talk to myself and put it all out there in black and white so I could read everything that had been brewing in my head and heart.... I can't tell you how many times since I wrote last that I've come back on here just to read what I wrote and remind myself of everything I have been feeling... It just seemed like I was becoming more and more involved with what I had committed myself to doing for everyone else and was ignoring myself..... I was even surprised to hear about a few people that I never even knew read my blog.... My silent little peeping toms.... It's cool.... I'm glad that people who don't know me very well or don't get to see me often get to learn a few things about me through my blog..... That's why I named it "Welcome to my life"....
Since my last post, everything is still busy in our household..... Mark is working hard trying to find great candidates for his boss and clients.... Noah is taking his time learning his blue belt form... Obviously, this is the hardest one yet, since they are in progression that way, but I think it really is challenging to him.... Which is great.... All the others have been pretty easy for him to learn (retaining all the moves is another story!!!!) but this one is really taking some focus..... He is excited to go back to school next week.... Going into the third grade and the GATE program will be awesome!!!! He's been SSSOOOOOO bored at Kindercare this summer.... They have done great field trips, but he does not enjoy being there so many hours all week..... So back to school we welcome you!!!!
And as for me, well, same ol same ol.... Working hard mostly...
Our surgery center is really starting to kick up the cases. We are getting busier and it seems like I am always in a long room. Which is great... More work, more job security..... We've got a great OR team in the back and we stand united!!!! The techs and circulators anyway!!! I love the docs we work with, they are all just so much fun and engaging!!! It's easy to do our job when these guys are so awesome!!!!
The hospital work has been picking up too... The last few weekends I've worked have been super busy!!! We barely even have time for lunch because we are cranking out so many cases!!! Today has been pretty mellow, had one case earlier, catching up on mandatory educational stuff, and watching some of the Olympics games.... My lucky streak finally ran out regarding call and I was called in last Tuesday at 1:45 in the morning!!!! We did an exploratory laparotomy and ended up doing a salpingectomy.... which means we opened up this ladies belly and found that she had an ectopic pregnancy in her fallopian tube, so we took her tube out.... After we were done with our case, I curled up on a gurney in our bronchoscopy room with a warm blankie and a pillow and slept till 6am.... Got up, cleaned up, and headed over to the surgery center for another day of work....
I've still been taking Obi for walks/runs.... But it has been soooo darn hot!!!! Like in the 90's!!! When we run it's really been kicking my booty!!!! But I have to stick with it!!! I really need to drop these last 20 pounds, and even though I am so disappointed that I didn't meet my timeline, I know I should be proud of how far I've come already.... But you know me, I'm really hard on myself!!!! I'm not happy, so I must keep going.... Still doing ab workouts, doing some free weights, just trying to do a little something here and there to change up the routine..... Midsection and arms is where I need to focus!!!!!
I have been really lucky to grow closer to a few of the girls from work... My roll dogs!!!! hahahah... We all get together- just the girls or as couples or with the whole families and just hang out and have fun!!!! I'm really enjoying these times with my girls!!!
A few weeks ago, a group of us girls headed out to my boss' timeshare in Indio.... We hung out by the pool, had some drinks, went to the fantasy springs casino, and just had a great time... It was so relaxing!!!! Just laying by the pool, frying my skin (literally, I have a pic I will post sometime), and listening to music!!! Not enough of those times lately!!! I need another one...
Last weekend we went to Frankie and Williams place to have some dinner, drinks and play beer pong for the first time.... That was a great time!!!! Beer pong is hilarious..... Veronica and I made a great team!!!
Then on Sunday we went roller skating!!!! Can I just tell you how much I love roller skating???? I LOVE roller skating... I hadn't been since Noah was about 2 years old..... but after a few minutes of warming up it was like I never stopped!!!! I had a great time... and was so proud of Mark and Noah for getting out there and trying too!!!! Mark had a rough time but he got out there and did it!!!! Noah had to go through some tears and snotbubbles, but then began to enjoy it enough to want to go back this week.... So we may go back this Sunday.... I think there was a group of 20 of us last week!!!!!
Yesterday we finished surgery early, so my friend Christi and I went out to lunch, hit the mall, and then met a group of coworkers later at a local restaurant for some TGIF drinks!!!! We ended up hangin out till almost 930... Tonight we're gonna have a mix match of family and friends over to our place to have dinner, drinks, watch Harold and Kumar, maybe even play some rock band and beer pong!!! Good times!!!!! My little niece Haylee is going to stay the rest of the weekend with us, so I'll be able to take her shopping and have a "girls day" with her tomorrow... I'm looking forward to doing some baking and girl stuff with her.... It's gonna be a lot of fun!!!!
I know I haven't posted pics in a while... But I'll be very honest.... I just haven't really been on my computer at home for long periods of time... If you're my friend on myspace, I have pics of recent events loaded up on there.... You can check them out, comment and all that good stuff... I just don't know when I'll have time to load them up on here.....since it takes a little bit longer to upload onto blogger.... My sister Terri turned 32 on Monday!!!!!The fam went out to dinner and celebrated her getting old together!!! LOL... This weekend is packed full of fun stuff .... Next weekend I work as usual, and have a double niece birthday pool party, and the week after that is my trip to Vail for hip arthroscopy training...... This month is just chocked full of plans!!!! To top it off, it's my moms birthday at the end of the month too.... Before you know it, August will be over....
