September 19 2007 -> Our 3 year wedding anniversary!

To think that three years ago today was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I was in a limo on my way to Thatcher Manor where I was getting ready for my wedding.. It seems like such a long time ago!!! All the planning and hard work built up to this day!!! I was working at least 60 hours a week trying to save enough money to be able to buy everything I wanted for our wedding... It turned out exactly as I pictured it in my head. A perfect dream come true. Looking into Marks eyes that day and reciting our vows that we each had written made me feel so special and loved. Having Noah in the ceremony and presenting him with a family medallion melts my heart just thinking about it. Having all our closest family (family from Costa Rica) and friends share this special day with us was well worth every day of hard work...
So today on our anniversary, I reflect on our relationship and this overwhelming feeling of love and adoration takes over me. Mark is truly the most genuinely loving, caring, considerate, kind, and self-sacrificing man I have ever met. And he wanted to be my husband! How lucky am I???
When Mark and I first met, I was living with a friend that he worked with. I went to their work often to visit my friend for lunch. I met him there once but never thought that I would talk to him again.... Later, I ended up working at the same place with him and my friend. I saw him everyday at work...and just felt something different for him. I told my friend, "Valarie, he's the one!" She thought I was crazy for saying that... Like a 18 year old girl knows who she will be with for the rest of her life!!!! But I kept telling her that I really liked him and that he was the one for me.... I just started talking to him and being his friend...and eventually told him how much I liked him.... Soon after, we set up a date!!! I remember our first date.. We went to the Cheesecake Factory in Irvine and met up with his friend Michael... We had dinner with him and then left and were on our way home... I never wanted that feeling (or that night) to end. I think I was already in love then. We dated for a few months and got pregnant quickly.... We moved in together, had our wonderful son Noah and got married 4 years later... (you have to know Mark and I are rebels to the end!!!) We are not the most traditional or conventional people.... It's just our way. The only other thing to add to our story is that we've been living happily ever after since. Taking everyday as a gift, and enjoying it to the fullest.
I love my husband and how he makes me a better person. I love the way he loves me for me and doesn't want me to change my ways, even though others think I should. I love the way he understands me (or at least most of me :)~) I love the way he is strong yet oh so loving with Noah... He's a great father...
Well I think I've written a pretty boring novel for everyone else but I am grateful to have this outlet to write and think about how lucky I am. Have a great day everyone.

Happy Belated Anniversary. Gosh darn it, I didn't read blogs yesterday. Well at least I gave you an early wish and a belated one. ;o)

It was good to hear your story too. I mean, I knew a lot of it already. :o) I'll never forget that you and I MET the family on the same Memorial Day weekend. Remember "that's MY man?" when they were playing tennis? Geesh, they even had big heads back then! :o)

Glad you're my sis in law. Love ya!
