Hey everyone... Wow, it's Saturday morning and I've already been at work for almost 2 hours...(only 6 more to go!!!) Luckily there are no cases scheduled today so I can just relax and maybe even sleep a little bit since we got home so late last night. I thought to myself that I was just going to clock in and go straight to sleep, but my coworkers bought breakfast and we've been in the lounge just relaxing and talking for a while...
The Bravery concert last night was SOOOOOO great!!! I fall deeper in love with those guys every time I see them!!! They just have so much energy on stage!!! It was truly great!! We (my friend Veronica, and her son Joey rode with me, Mark drove straight from work) got to LA around 630pm and grabbed some food from the grocery store next to the Wiltern and took it with us while we sat in line waiting for the doors to open at 730.... Mark got there about 15 minutes before the doors opened.... Great timing!!! We went in and got in front right away.. There is a small pit section in front of the stage and they only let a certain amount of people (the first 100 or so in line get to go to the front) into that area with wristbands... So it was awesome!!! The first band was called The Growlers... They were pretty cool... A bit country, kind of like our favorite little local band Hobo Jazz... I think I was so anxious to see The Bravery that I hardly gave them my full attention.... The second band caught my attention.. Their name is The War Tapes... A little like She Wants Revenge and AFI... They were great!!!! Lots of energy, especially from the asian guitar player... He was great... Mark and I thought of our adopted asian brother Teddy when we saw him, who knows why??? They had a female guitarist that looked like she was being held hostage on stage... She looked absolutely miserable!! She didn't even sing! It's too bad, because she brought down the energy for the whole band... Other than her, they were awesome.. I'll definitely be on the lookout for their next show. And then, there is The Bravery... Ahhhhh... Every song was awesome... They played mine and Marks song "Bad Sun"... That made my night.... They were so amped up with energy.... The crowd wasn't too rowdy, except for this one really drunk girl that was trying to push herself up front... She kept pushing on my friends back (my friend is like 5'2", and barely 100 pounds!) and finally she gave my friend one big push and I had it, I just turned around and pushed her into her man and almost on the floor!!! I think her man finally got the hint that they weren't getting in front of us, so they moved on.... Back to the Bravery... They did all their big songs like Honest Mistake, Fearless, Tyrant, Time Won't Let Me Go, Swollen Summer, Bad Sun, Above and Below... Just to name a few. So for $25 a ticket, I think I got more than my moneys worth!!!! What a great feeling!!! I'll post pictures later.. right now I gotta get back to catching up on my sleep!!!!
