WoW!!!!! I apologize for being such a slacker.... But lately it seems like time is playing a cruel joke on me.... I'm losing it!!! Hahahahah!!! You know it's bad when even Liz can tell me that I am slacking!!!! LOL!!!
Well since last Thursday, what's new???
We went to Knotts Scary Farm on Saturday... I don't usually get scared...So it's fun to go and see if these people can scare me!! (You gotta make them work for it!!!)Well I only ended up getting startled once, so it was alright. We went with Tim and Melissa (Marks brother and his wife), Todd and Ann (Todd if from Marks work, Ann is his wife) and saw my best friend Kimmy there..(for like a minute!!!) I loved that we went in a group, but I gotta say I was truly disappointed with Knotts this year.. There were mazes that completely sucked and a few that were really awesome... But more than anything, was the abundance of mediocre mazes with only a few monsters inside to scare people. So disappointed, Mark and I decided that we would go to either the Queen Mary or Universal Studios from now on.... So long Knotts Scary Farm....After we left Knotts (at 2am!!), we drove over to Todd and Ann's house for a nice game of guitar hero... Did I mention my addiction to this game??? :)~ Well, we played till 5ish in the morning and then decided to head home because Tim and Melissa were coming over the next day.... It was so much fun playing head to head with someone else... It was Ann vs Kathy, and Todd vs Mark!!! And for the special tribute to Todd, we all played YYZ by his favorite band Rush!!! Good times.. Guitar Hero III comes out this Sunday so you know where I'll be...... You got it, in line buying it bright and early!!!
Sunday we went to Marks moms and grandpas storage units here in town and rummaged through some of the stuff they have in there... Mom said for the boys to go through there and get what they want because they're just going to sell it all whenever they come out here... (They're living in Alaska now) OMG, it was soooo dirty and dusty in there.... The brothers are definitely going to have to make a day of organizing and going through everything there.... Both storage units were sooo full!!!! I recommended the boys take masks and gloves when they actually go sort through it all, because it was sick... I think I tasted dust for the rest of the day... Ugh.... Luckily, there was a few goodies that we could use.. You know I love to cook and bake... So i found some Pyrex bowls and measuring cups to bring home... I'm a sucker for anything to do with the kitchen... I also was able to bring home some cute pics of Mark and his family from way back in his childhood. I have to scan those and a few other pics sometime soon and I'll add them on here....
This week has started off OK.... Work is busier than usual for me because one of our techs is out on disability for an unknown amount of time... She has a mass in her leg that will be biopsied because they think it could be pre-cancerous or cancerous.. She is so very young tooo (early 20's)...It's so sad... So please keep her in your thoughts. All of us at work are keeping positive thoughts for her.... On a funnier note...My new nickname at work is Miss Cupcake..... Why??? Well, I have totally gotten into making some semi-gourmet cupcakes, and am brushing up on my frosting and decorating techniques... Here's a pic of some cupcakes I had made for Marks office and for my coworkers too.... I think these were the chocolate buttermilk cupcakes with cream cheese frosting... Yummy!!!!

Noah is doing great at Camo belt.. His classes changed from Monday and Wednesday to Tuesday and Thursday, which is OK.. But the time changed from 515pm to 345pm...which means I have to get up WAAAYYYY earlier on those days to be at work between 6 and 630 so I can get out in time to go over the canyon, pick him up and get to class!!! Phew!!! That's hectic....But it's well worth it because we have the rest of the day together.... This Friday though, he will start his sparring class. I am so excited.. I think I am more excited than he is, for now anyway..till he gets started.... Then I know he'll love it... Here's a few pics from his ceremony....
My mom and little sister have a new puppy!!!! His name is Sonic!!! He's a 10 week old miniature pinscher/chihuahua mix.... OMG!!! He's sooo cute!!! He came from my friend at works brother.... They had a big litter, and only wanted to keep two so she asked me if my mom was still interested in a dog... And of course, she was!!! So he came to his new home on Saturday... He has a tan body but his 2 front paws have areas that are cream with tan freckles... (I call them his leg-warmers!!!) Noah and I went over to play with him on Sunday and fell in love... Well, Monday Marie told me they had one more puppy they wanted to give away and if I knew anyone that was interested... I said yes, I am interested... (I have been bugging Mark for a puppy for a loooonnnnggg time....) After a lot of thought, Mark said YES!!!! So we are getting our puppy on Thursday.... He is all black with a little bit of brown... He's got typical miniature pinscher colorings.... Awwww...I can't wait!!! We just have to come up with a name.... Mark was joking and mentioned Bruiser (which I like) from the movie legally blonde, but he was joking.... So we are trying to think of cute names for him... I am sooo excited!
The wildfires here in Southern Cali have been downright outrageous this week... Grey ash filled skies from morning till night... You can barely breathe, and visibility is lowered.... Luckily the nearest fires to us are about 25 or more miles away... I just shudder at the thought of winter rain this year... We need it soooo bad, but when (and if) it comes there will be so many horrible landslides... Those people are just screwed either way. My thoughts go out to all those families... I know the heat isn't helping either... It's been in the 90's so far this week.... I hope it cools down a bit so the firemen can do what they do best!!! Speaking of, my brother in law Jay (who is a fireman) has been put on mandatory duty until next week.. So please keep him in your thoughts as well... I know he is an awesome fireman, but it's always scary to have him away at a big fire like these are.
Well, I think I'll load some pics on Thursday after we pick up our new addition to the family!!! Till then have a great week and be safe for those of you that are in California dealing with these crazy fires!!!

i had fun at Knott's, it wasn't so bad, but then again it was my 1st time. :o) i had fun w/you guys!
And the storage...ugh! we did get a few things we needed too, so i was happy about that and even MORE happy w/timmy's baby pics! love them!!!
hmmm - well the fire is officially 3 MILES from our house now. :o( i am not so happy about that. where is Jay? i was thinking of him today, tim said he's been working all weekend, poor guy. fire fighters are so very honorable. i'll keep Jay in my prayers.
